A U.N. panel has warned the Federal Reserve that some rural development loans could be a target for cyber-attacks.
The U.NSI Rural Development Panel says the program’s $50 billion loan guarantee program could be used to make loans to entities “that pose a risk to national security.”
The panel says it has no proof that any of the loans are being used for any malicious purposes.
The panel’s report is due to be released Thursday and has not been formally released.
The Federal Reserve said it is monitoring the program.
